What is an after
school study course
on human rights?
This is a course
that is done outside
of school, on your
own. In after school
studies, assignments
are normally given
which are then sent
in to be checked by
a teacher.
What is the point
of this after school
study?
An advocate is
somebody who publicly
supports or says good
things about something
and tolerance means
the accepting of the
differing views of
other people and fairness
toward the people who
hold these different
views.
The back of the What
are Human Rights? booklet
states, “The
purpose of Youth
for Human Rights
International is
to teach youth around
the globe about human
rights, thus helping
them to become valuable
advocates for the
promotion of tolerance
and peace.”
This extension course
is made to help you
become more aware of
your human rights and
what can be done to
improve the condition
of human rights in
the world.
How do you take this
course?
This course is designed
to be done in your
own home.
This course can be
done over a several
week period at an hour
a day. More or fewer
hours can be done.
During this course
you will find that
words are defined so
that you will have
a full understanding
of what you read. Any
word in red
letters is defined
in the glossary found here.
Some of these words
are also defined in
the course. The questions
and exercises will
help you to increase
your understanding
of what you read.
Cut and paste the
exercises, fill in
your answers and e-mail
them to:

Note in your e-mail
if you are sending

not e-mail your attachments
